The colours are well chosen. Dark and obscure in the background whereas the lighter colours stand out in the front, just to show the difference between light and darkness. Perhaps that was your purpose to apply the dark colours a bit blurry and the light ones precise and sharp.
Unicorns are peaceful and good creatures. To put them into connection with the element water seems rather interesting as they are rather earth elementals.
The light colours give hope and the waterfall appears to be like a light-beam.
I like the agitation of the water the unicorn causes by carefully wading through it as well as the spray resulting by the floods of the waterfall.
The picture is very lively. I adore the great eyes of the unicorn. They seem to be a little sad but on the other side full of hope.
